Title IX and SB-493

Title IX is federal legislation that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in all education programs and activities operated by colleges and universities. This legislation clarifies the process for filing and following through on complaints of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual misconduct.

If this is an emergency situation with immediate threat to self or others, call 911.

If you are a student and need to file a complaint, please complete the reporting form.

If you are an employee and need to file a complaint, please complete the Unlawful Harassment/Discrimination Complaint Form and send it to Vice Chancellor Laura Barosso by email.

After receipt of a report of sexual misconduct, the Title IX Coordinator contacts the student complainant and student respondent to schedule an initial appointment.

If an employee is involved, HR reaches out to the employee to schedule the initial appointment. Student employees are considered students and are treated as such.

It's important to us that you feel comfortable and respected, so there's no need for you to disclose the reason for your visit when making an appointment. Our primary goal is to ensure you have access to the support and resources that can help you through your journey, on your own terms.
